much of the time on the AT the view consists of 500 trees with glimpses of something interesting through the trees. Then you climb 1500 feet and the view changes to 500 trees with glimpses of something interesting through the trees … but farther down. Between Wapiti shelter & Pearisburg, however, there are lots of opportunities for a good view.
